Wow .. Absolutely Stunning Read!!  225

This is an absolutely stunning read. I’m going to be extra careful with this review as I don’t want to spoil this read for anyone else!

Emily Havistock is attending a work conference when, at the bar, she meets a man who jumps the queue to be served. Having been badly burnt before in a relationship, she is surprised to find him attractive – and to discover that it’s reciprocated. Very quickly they become inseparable and make plans to move in together.

When things seem almost too good to be true, they usually are – right? Well, no surprises here then! When things move on and Adam introduces Emily to his mother, Pammie, she seems like a nice – if rather domineering mother. And that, my friends, is only the beginning . . .

I’m the kind of reader who takes each book as it comes – if I work out where the book is going then it really has to be staring me in the face. I enjoy each read for what it is, seldom comparing or overthinking the story. This one drew me in hook, line and sinker. It is exceptionally well written .. each event continuing on at a fair pace from the previous one and with enough content to keep even the most curious reader happy. Mothers-in-law are a breed unto themselves at times .. I was exceptionally lucky with mine and I aim to follow her example. But believe me, Pammie is a piece of work!

The Other Woman isn’t a novel any reader will forget in a hurry; in fact, it has put Sandie Jones on my list as an author to not only follow but to read her next book as soon as I can get my hot little hands on it! Needless to say, I recommend this book wholeheartedly.

My sincere thanks to publishers Pan Macmillan for approving my copy via NetGalley. This is my honest, original and unbiased review.

81oNl3gu-pL._SY200_Sandie Jones has been a freelance journalist for over 20 years, interviewing celebrities for Hello, Woman’s Weekly and the national daily newspapers. Amongst her favourite people to talk to are Paul O’Grady, Joanna Lumley, Julie Walters and the late Bruce Forsyth.

Her debut novel, The Other Woman, is a psychological thriller about the destructive relationship between a woman and her partner’s mother.

If Sandie wasn’t an author she’d be an interior designer as she has an unhealthy obsession with cushions!

She lives in London with her husband and three children.
