A perfect friend … or a perfect impostor?
Alexa is an energetic and charismatic professional and the new member of a Parisian PR company where she quickly befriends her colleagues Rosie and Jack. She brings a much-needed breath of fresh air into the office and ambitiously throws herself into her new job and friendships.
But is Alexa all she claims to be?
As her life intertwines with Rosie and Jack’s, they must all decide what separates truth from fiction. Will the stories that unfold unite or divide them? Can first impressions ever be trusted?
In this original novella, H.A. Leuschel evokes the powerful hold of appearances and what a person is prepared to do to keep up the facade. If you like thought-provoking and compelling reads with intriguing characters, My Sweet Friend is for you.
What a Terrific Read!!
Having read and enjoyed H. A. Leuschel’s previous novel ‘Manipulated Lives’ I wasn’t sure if this would be similar or different. If anything, it was even more enjoyable, taking the topic to a deeper level and boy, Alexa was a right piece of work!
I think this will strike a chord with anyone who has ever worked in an office environment. There are various types of colleagues in any situation, and this author has a handle on all their characteristics – quite scarily so. Hindsight is a wonderful thing and I can look back at the time I spent behind a desk and see now that not everyone was who they pretended to be. Of course, at the time – and not helped by being young and naive – I tended to accept everyone at face value. How I wish I had read this author then!
I would go as far as to suggest that this is the best story from this author so far, and I will definitely be on the lookout for any future books with her name on them. With plenty of food for thought this novella certainly gets your brain ticking over!
My thanks to the author. This is my honest, original and unbiased review.
